*If you have any questions, notice any flaws, want to suggest a new rule, or if you simply want to give some feedback about our current standing server rules, do not hesitate to join our official Discord server , and open a ticket in our support channel, or alternatively send a direct message to stevestan on Discord.
It is forbidden to break the rules of any town, the punishment has to either be issued through a court case by a prosecutor, or be directly issued by a sheriff or the town mayor if there is undeniable evidence. The punishment is decided by the town and it has to be in accordance with all conditions mentioned in .
All residents should always have the right to appeal against a punishment through opening a ticket if they have a reason to believe that it is not in accordance with the server rules & guidelines.
If you still are deemed guilty after appealing, or if you refuse to commit to your punishment, the town leadership can by the help of a moderator or of higher position force you to comply.
In order for a town to have permission by the server management to issue any sentences to a resident within a said town, the town & laws must meet all of the following criteria in this section.
Upon joining, all new residents must be notified of the town laws existence, preferably they should be given a book which contains the laws of the town, or be let known of where they can obtain the necessary information.
The laws have to be easily accessible inside, or close to the town center, as well as other places near urban areas inside of the town boundaries if the town owns a significant amount of land and/or is sparsely populated.
The laws have to be placed on a lectern with a writable book, be sold through a chest shop through a written book at a price at or below $100, or simply be written out on signs. The laws have to in some way or form be accessible in-game and cannot only be found for example inside a discord server or group.
The law has to be an act of an incident implying bad ethnicity/morals and needs to be reasonable and easy to follow, and therefore can not easily be broken on a regular basis by accident.
The consequences/punishment of breaking a town law needs to be reasonable, the punishment has to be based on what the prosecuted member has to their name. In case the punishment is deemed to be too harsh by the server management, the punishment will be decreased and decided by the server management instead. Currently, the main form of punishment is through the payment of any type of currency (Money, or any form of item). If the player is responsible to pay with a certain currency, they can in some cases be allowed to pay with a different currency, but with the same value.
If a Moderator or of higher management position is a part of the same town or nation as someone who has appealed to get their sentence reduced or removed, they are not allowed to witness or influence the appealing process in any way or form.
If a resident of a town breaks a server rule instead of a town law which is specified inside of the town, the witness is responsible to report it through a ticket instead of either prosecuting the member themself or by reporting it to the town authorities. By default all server rules also apply to each and every town, but they can not be used to prosecute a resident with, instead of reporting it through a ticket to the staff team like in a regular rule violation case.
If the outsider is a resident within the same nation, they are counted as a resident in the case that the entire nation collectively agrees on the same laws and meets the same conditions. However if each town within said nation all have different laws, even if they are just slightly different, they are still counted as an outsider.
An outsider can only be sentenced to the following punishments; They can become outlawed, meaning they become banned from re-entering the town, usually for a temporary time, but it can also happen at a permanent level. They can also be embargoed by said town which makes them unable to purchase any goods, as well as purchasing land/plots. Lastly they can also be banned from ever residing in the town, meaning they can not become a resident in the town for either a temporary or permanent time.
If possible, the outsider should be warned about breaking said law before they face any sort of punishment, as it is harder to enforce laws on outsiders as it is nearly impossible to keep up with every rule each town has on the whole server. The punishing of an outsider in other words should always be the last resort.
In order for a town to have permission by the server management to issue any punishments to an outsider who is outside of the town’s sphere of influence, the town & laws must meet all of the following criteria in the same section. The following sets of conditions from also apply to outsiders.
